Murjan Abaya is a modest-luxury label making abayas for women across Pakistan. We design in-house and finish by hand, which means a smaller collection than a wholesale importer but a Pakistani abaya you can wear for years rather than a season. Sixteen pieces, three collections, and free custom lengths on every single one.
Choosing between black, white and colour
Most women start with a black abaya, and there is good reason for it — it hides everything, suits every occasion and never looks wrong. Ours come in matte nida for structure or crepe for a softer fall. If black feels heavy for daytime, a white abaya in warm ivory is the alternative most of our customers reach for; it reads fresh without the harshness of a stark bridal white, and it holds up better than you would expect in Pakistani dust and heat. Beyond those, we work in warm sand, stone grey, deep navy, emerald and rose taupe.
What makes it a luxury abaya
A luxury abaya is not just a higher price. It is fabric chosen for how it falls, seams that lie flat, embroidery worked slowly enough to stay put through washing, and a cut drawn for movement rather than a photograph. Our occasion pieces carry hand-applied beadwork and floral embroidery in silk-blend fabrics, made in small runs because that finishing cannot be rushed.

Buying an abaya online is mostly a question of length and fabric, and both are solvable. Every product page carries a Perfect Fit Assistant that recommends a length from your height in centimetres or feet, and you can choose Standard or Custom Length at no extra cost — leave your measurements in the order notes and we cut to your fall. We deliver nationwide, typically 2–4 working days to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Peshawar. Four fabrics, four different days
Fabric decides almost everything about how a piece wears — its weight, the way it falls, how it behaves in heat, how it looks after twenty washes. Read this before you buy an abaya online and most of the guesswork disappears.
01 — Matte Nida
Structure that holds its line
Firm, matte and completely non-reflective — the fabric most women picture when they picture a black abaya. It keeps a clean column from shoulder to hem and resists creasing through a full day out. Our Signature Nida and Soft Flare pieces are cut from it.
02 — Crepe
Softness for long, hot days
Lighter than nida with a fine grain to the surface, crepe falls in loose folds rather than holding a shape. It breathes, it forgives movement, and it is what we suggest for a first everyday Pakistani abaya worn right through summer.
03 — Silk Blend
Drape with a low sheen
Fluid, cool against the skin, finished with the faintest shine under light. This is the fabric that turns an abaya into a luxury abaya — it carries beadwork and embroidery without puckering, which is why every occasion piece we make uses it.

Jersey grips without pins and stays where you put it; georgette holds a crisp fold. Between them they cover most hijab needs, and both were chosen in tones that sit quietly under a white abaya without shadowing through.
How To Wear It
One wardrobe, worn three ways
Weekday mornings
School runs, the office, the market. This is where a plain crepe or nida piece in warm sand, stone grey or charcoal earns its place — pull it over whatever you are already wearing, add a jersey hijab in a tone close to the fabric, and the decision takes four seconds. Most customers keep two everyday pieces in rotation so one is always clean and ready.
Work and travel
For anything where you will be seated for hours, photographed, or moving between air-conditioned rooms and open heat, a matte black abaya is still the most forgiving thing you can own. It reads formal without any effort, hides the creases of a long journey, and takes a georgette scarf in almost any colour.
Eid, weddings and evenings
For occasions the fabric changes rather than the shape. Silk-blend drape, hand-applied beadwork along the neckline and cuffs, tonal thread embroidery — in champagne, deep emerald, midnight black and rose taupe. Pair one heavily worked piece with a completely plain hijab and let a single thing carry the room.

What length should I choose?
Enter your height into the Perfect Fit Assistant on any product page and it will recommend a length. Every piece is offered in Standard or Custom Length at no extra charge — leave your measurements in the order notes and we cut to your fall rather than to an average.
Is a Pakistani abaya cut differently?
Somewhat. Gulf abayas tend to run long and wide, and Turkish cuts often sit narrower through the shoulder. Ours are drafted for local heights and local weather, which mostly means lighter fabric weights and a sleeve that does not pool at the wrist. If you have worn an imported abaya before, expect a slightly closer fit.
How do I stop a black abaya fading?
Cold water, inside out, no bleach, and dry in shade rather than direct sun — sunlight is what greys black fabric, not washing. Iron on low from the reverse side. Treated this way a matte nida black abaya holds its depth for years.
Will a white abaya stay white?
Ivory is far more forgiving than an optic white, which is why we make it in ivory. Wash it separately in cold water, treat marks by blotting rather than rubbing, and skip fabric softener, which dulls the surface over time.
